Challenge Yourself to Make a Commitment to Change

A very crucial aspect of becoming successful is to be willing and able to change. Change seldom comes easy, since so many people rely on consistence and stability in their lives to remain happy and comfortable.

However, when you’re not comfortable or happy with your life, even if it is stable, then it’s time to switch things up. More importantly, you have to stick with the changes that you make.

Being able to be committed to change isn’t easy on its own. Any new changes in your life can be uncomfortable and they take a lot of time to get used to. If you just try to take these changes head-on as they are, then it’s going to be a lot harder for you to adjust.

However, there are ways that you can make yourself have a much better time when it comes to change. One way to do it is to make it something fun. Instead of having this large, broad goal of changing for yourself, turn it into little, simple challenges that slowly get you to adjust to the full change.

This can help a lot, because you’re not having to readjust your life so suddenly, but rather you’re able to take your time. Additionally, by having little challenges along the way, you feel like you’re making progress without having to just dive into the deep end.

Along with your little challenges, you could entice yourself with small rewards. You could have a weekly reward for sticking with your challenge over the past seven days, and more serious rewards for sticking to it for a month.

Positive reinforcement like this is a very efficient way to create good habits, meaning as you reward yourself for continuing to stick with these changes, you’ll be more likely to solidify them and make them your norm.

Change doesn’t have to be difficult or complex. Like any other activity, it can be made fun if you know how to do it. If you’re trying to force yourself to do something that you don’t like, chances are you’re not going to go very far with it.

Changing something major in your life – like your job or anything else – can be stressful, and you might want to stop if you don’t get used to it quickly. By turning this negative experience into something enjoyable, you’re much more likely to succeed in the long run.
