The Lion’s Mouth Still Shuts

by Eric D. Cooper

A prophetic call to discernment in an age of deception

“My God sent His angel and shut the mouths of the lions so that they would not hurt me, for I have been found innocent in His sight.” — Daniel 6:22

We are living in a day where the tactics of the enemy have not evolved—only the packaging has changed. The accuser of the brethren still lurks in corridors of power, using twisted laws, manipulated narratives, and carefully staged traps to silence the righteous. But the strategy is ancient. So is the outcome for those who stand firm.

The Deceiver Still Whispers

The spirit that deceived King Darius into condemning a loyal servant under the pretense of unity is the same spirit deceiving leaders today.
The decree may sound noble. The law may appear just. But behind many global policies, cultural shifts, and spiritual compromises, there lies a darker intent—to silence prayer, to separate covenant believers from their Source, and to intimidate the faithful into passivity.

Make no mistake:
The enemy wants us in the pit.
But even more than that, he wants us afraid to pray.

Daniel Wasn’t Silent. He Was Steady.

Daniel didn’t pick a fight. He simply stayed faithful. He continued to pray—windows open, heart fixed. His discipline in the secret place was a direct threat to powers of darkness. And though it landed him in the lions’ den, Heaven had already issued a response:

“Shut their mouths.”

In a world filled with noise, accusation, and spiritual warfare disguised as policy, the Lord is still commanding angels to silence the roar of the enemy.

Not because we are perfect.
But because we are His.

This Is a Prophetic Warning

We are in an hour of widespread deception. Propaganda masquerades as compassion. Compromise is cloaked in tolerance. Entire generations are being led to bow before idols of cultural relevance and moral relativism.

And like King Darius, many well-meaning leaders are being deceived into signing the decree—a decree that ultimately serves darkness.

The question is not, “Will persecution come?”
The question is, “Will you keep your window open when it does?”

The Mouths of Lions Still Shut

We are not powerless.
The Spirit of the Living God is still speaking to those who listen.
The Lion of the Tribe of Judah still reigns—and He still shuts the mouths of lesser lions.

But this is not the time to walk naively.
It is time to awaken.
To discern.
To fast.
To pray.
To open our windows again toward Jerusalem and lift our eyes Above the Sun.

“He rescues and saves; He performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth.”
— Daniel 6:27

A Call to the Remnant

  • Do not be deceived. Deception always follows distraction. Guard your gates.
  • Stay rooted in Truth. Read the Word daily—not just devotionally, but prophetically.
  • Contend for your voice. Don’t let intimidation drive you into silence.
  • Pray boldly. Heaven responds to those who kneel in the secret place.

You may be surrounded…
You may feel cornered…
But know this:

The Lion’s Mouth Still Shuts.
