Day 4: Confessing and Repenting of Sin
Theme: Agreeing with God about our sin.
Scriptures:
- 1 John 1:9 ESV: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
- Romans 3:23 NKJV: “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”
- Psalm 139:23-24 NKJV: “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
- Psalm 139:23-24 ESV: “Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!”
Reflection:
Repentance begins with confession—agreeing with God about our sin. He knows our weaknesses, and His grace is sufficient to cleanse and restore us. Invite Him to search your heart and expose anything that needs His healing touch.
Devotional Thought:
Confession is more than admitting wrongs; it’s agreeing with God about our need for His grace. When we confess, we invite His cleansing power into our lives. Reflect on the power of confession and the freedom it brings.
Action Step: Identify one area of your life where you’ve struggled. Bring it before God in prayer and ask for His forgiveness and strength to overcome.
Prayer:
“Lord, I confess my sins before You. Search my heart and reveal any hidden areas that need repentance. Cleanse me and make me whole. Amen.”
