A Prophetic Sign in the Heavens: The Gathering of Eagles & the Shaking of the Earth
By Eric Cooper
The Lord often speaks through visions, dreams, and the whispers of His Spirit, but there are moments when His voice thunders through creation itself. This past week, I experienced something so profound and undeniable that I cannot help but share it—both as a prophetic sign and a call to discern the times.
The Gathering of Eagles: A Divine Announcement
I have always seen eagles as a symbol of God’s presence, prophetic vision, and divine strength. Most mornings, I may see one or two eagles, perhaps up to eleven. But on this particular day, something extraordinary unfolded.
As I drove to work, I saw hundreds of eagles—not just a few, but an overwhelming gathering in the trees and filling the sky. It was as if the heavens themselves had opened, and the Lord was declaring, “Pay attention. Something is about to shift.”
The sheer magnitude of this sight struck my spirit. It was as if the eagles were assembled for a purpose, waiting, watching, and preparing for something imminent.
A Second Call: The Cry of the Watchman Eagle
Later that day, as I finished my work and prepared to leave, I heard a sharp, piercing squeal outside my office. Curious, I stepped out to see a large eagle perched atop a tree beside our building, crying out in a loud, continuous call.
Directly below him, three bunnies nibbled along the railway track, completely unphased by the eagle’s warning. As I gazed at the eagle, I felt an undeniable spiritual pull—he was trying to get my attention.
Then, from the Northwest, I saw another, larger eagle swoop down in a steep dive behind a building. I lost sight of him, but something in my spirit knew—this was not random. This was a warning. A call to awareness. A sign of movement and change.
The Earthquake: A Divine Shaking
Just days later, a 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck near Sechelt British Columbia, shaking buildings across the Greater Vancouver area. While I didn’t feel it directly, my son working in our maintenance garage, ran out thinking a bus had hit the building.
That phrase caught my attention. A bus represents movement, direction, and the carrying of people to a destination. Could it be that this shaking was not just a natural event but a prophetic sign of what’s to come?
Interpreting the Prophetic Signs
If this had been a dream, I would analyze every detail carefully—because dreams often contain layers of revelation. But this was not a dream. This was real life.
- The Gathering of Eagles – A Divine Assembly
- The unusual number of eagles represents a prophetic move of God gathering in preparation.
- This could be a sign of spiritual warriors assembling, intercessors uniting, and divine connections forming for what’s ahead.
- Just as the church in the 80s & 90s experienced a move of God in worship and the prophetic but lost it after a shaking, I believe God is restoring something that was left unfinished. The Church today has the opportunity once again to carry what could not remain in the past.
- The Crying Eagle – A Watchman’s Call
- The loud, persistent cry of the eagle could be a warning or an announcement.
- The three bunnies represent those who remain unaware of the urgency of the hour, peacefully grazing while a great shift is happening above them.
- The second eagle swooping down from the Northwest (a direction often associated with spiritual battles and unexpected movements) suggests a sudden, strategic move of God—or even the enemy attempting to take ground.
- The Earthquake – A Shaking Before the Shift
- Biblically, earthquakes symbolize divine alignment and the testing of foundations (Haggai 2:6-7, Hebrews 12:26-27).
- The fact that my son thought a bus hit the building suggests that the coming move of God will hit like an impact—a force that changes everything.
- While I did not feel the shaking, others did—perhaps symbolizing that we must remain spiritually grounded even as everything around us is being tested.
A Call to Action: The Time is Now
I share this because I believe the Lord is confirming and commissioning us for the season ahead. There’s a Church coming that will not be just another church plant—it will be a prophetic assignment.
These signs are not to be ignored.
- We must prepare. The gathering of eagles tells me that God is assembling people, resources, and divine alignments for a greater purpose.
- We must be watchful. The eagle’s cry tells me that this is not a time to be passive. The enemy would love to keep people unaware, grazing along the tracks of life while a shift is happening.
- We must stand firm in the shaking. The earthquake tells me that foundations are being tested, but what is unshakable will remain.
Final Thoughts: Prophetic Insight for the Future
I submit all of this in humility, knowing that prophetic signs must always be weighed in prayer and by The Word. But I cannot shake the feeling that we are at a Kairos moment—a divine intersection where God is moving in ways we have not yet seen.
Will we rise with the eagles, discern the signs, and prepare for the movement ahead?
I am listening, watching, and stepping forward in faith.
The time is now. The shaking has begun. The gathering is here.
Let’s move forward in boldness, knowing that we have been chosen for such a time as this.
