Scripture Readings: Psalms 20, 50, 80, 110, 140; Proverbs 20
Daily Prayer: Spirit of the Living God,
As I reflect on Your promises and teachings today, fill me with the strength to face whatever comes my way with a heart anchored in Your Word. Let the Psalms and Proverbs guide me toward a life of righteousness and peace.
In Psalm 20, may the Lord answer you in the day of trouble; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. May He send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.
Through Psalm 50, the Mighty One, God, the Lord, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to where it sets. From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth. “Gather to me this consecrated people, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice.”
From Psalm 80, hear us, Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock. You who sit enthroned between the cherubim, shine forth before Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh. Awaken Your might; come and save us.
In Psalm 110, the Lord says to my lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.” The Lord will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, saying, “Rule in the midst of your enemies!”
Psalm 140, deliver me, O Lord, from evil men; protect me from men of violence, who plan evil in their hearts and stir up wars every day. Keep me safe, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; protect me from the violent, who devise ways to trip my feet.
From Proverbs 20, wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise. The king’s wrath is like the roar of a lion; he who angers him forfeits his life.
Spirit of the Living God, empower me to embrace Your teachings and to live by the principles You have laid out in Your holy scriptures. Let me be a testament to Your love and grace through my actions and words.
In Your gracious and powerful name, I pray, Amen.
