Scripture Readings: Psalms 22, 52, 82, 112, 142; Proverbs 22
Daily Prayer: Spirit of the Living God,
As I reflect on Your Word today, I seek comfort and strength in Your promises of protection and justice. Help me to live a life that honors You, trusting in Your providential care.
In Psalm 22, my God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Yet You are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel. Our ancestors put their trust in You, and You delivered them.
Through Psalm 52, why do you boast of evil, you mighty hero? Why do you boast all day long, you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God? But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love forever and ever.
From Psalm 82, God presides in the great assembly; He renders judgment among the “gods”: “How long will you defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked? Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.”
In Psalm 112, praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands. Their children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.
Psalm 142, I cry aloud to the Lord; I lift up my voice to the Lord for mercy. I pour out before Him my complaint; before Him I tell my trouble.
From Proverbs 22, a good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. Rich and poor have this in common: The Lord is the Maker of them all.
Spirit of the Living God, let the assurance of Your protective presence inspire me to stand firm in faith, uphold justice, and walk humbly with You every day.
In Your mighty and loving name, I pray, Amen.
