Day 4 – A Call to Worship

Scripture Readings: Psalms 4, 34, 64, 94, 124; Proverbs 4

Daily Prayer: Spirit of the Living God,

As I immerse myself in Your sacred words today, I invite Your Spirit to illuminate these scriptures, drawing me closer to You and deepening my understanding of Your will.

In Psalm 4, as I lay down to sleep, I pray for the peace that comes from knowing You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. Let the light of Your face shine upon me, and hear me as I call out to You in my distress.

Psalm 34 exhorts me to taste and see that You are good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in You. Let me continually proclaim Your praise, acknowledging how You deliver the righteous from all their fears and hear their cries for help.

From Psalm 64, protect me from the plots of the wicked, from the scheming of evildoers. They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their words like deadly arrows. But let God shoot them with His arrows; let them be suddenly destroyed.

Psalm 94 reassures me that You, God of vengeance, shine forth. Rise up, O Judge of the earth; repay to the proud what they deserve. As I learn from Your law, let it comfort me and give me solace when anxiety is great within me.

In Psalm 124, I affirm that if You, Lord, had not been on our side, the waters would have engulfed us, the stream would have swept over our soul. Blessed be the Lord, who has not given us as prey to their teeth. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Proverbs 4 urges me to hear, O sons, a father’s instruction, and be attentive, that you may gain insight. I am directed to guard my heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. Let me walk in the way of wisdom, led along straight paths.

Spirit of the Living God, saturate my being with Your teachings today. Shape my actions, guide my thoughts, and steady my emotions. May Your wisdom be my companion, and Your Word a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

In Your majestic and loving presence, I pray, Amen.
