Scripture Readings: Psalms 5, 35, 65, 95, 125; Proverbs 5
Daily Prayer: Spirit of the Living God,
As I approach Your Word this day, fill me with the grace to hear Your voice through the Psalms and the insights of Proverbs. Let Your Spirit guide me to a deeper understanding and a more heartfelt connection with You.
In Psalm 5, I seek Your guidance; listen to my words, Lord, consider my lament. Hear my cry for help, my King and my God, for to You I pray. In the morning, I lay my requests before You and wait expectantly, trusting in Your steadfast love to lead me on level ground.
Psalm 35 implores You to contend with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me. Take up shield and armor and come to my aid. Let me rejoice in Your salvation, singing joyfully of Your righteousness.
From Psalm 65, You answer us with awesome deeds of righteousness, O God our Savior. The hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas, who formed the mountains by Your power, having armed Yourself with strength—who stilled the roaring of the seas and the turmoil of the nations.
In Psalm 95, I come before You with thanksgiving and extol You with music and song. For You are the great God, the great King above all gods. In Your hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to You. Let me bow down in worship, kneeling before You, our Maker.
Psalm 125 reassures that those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so You surround Your people both now and forevermore. The scepter of the wicked will not remain over the land allotted to the righteous.
From Proverbs 5, I heed the warning to maintain discretion and let my lips guard knowledge. Let me not be captivated by seductive words or stray towards unhealthy paths, but keep to the way that is firm, protected by wisdom and understanding.
Spirit of the Living God, breathe Your life into these readings. Let them transform me, enrich me, and equip me to face whatever this day holds with courage and faith. Let Your truth resonate deeply in my heart, shaping my life in Your image.
In Your holy and powerful name, I pray, Amen.
