Day 2: Taking Responsibility as a Royal Priest
Theme: Walking in our priestly identity.
Scriptures:
- 1 Peter 2:9 NKJV: “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;”
- Psalm 91:4 NKJV: “He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.”
- John 17:17 NKJV: “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.”
Reflection:
God has called us to be a royal priesthood, responsible for stewarding our lives in holiness. As priests, we stand before God on behalf of ourselves and others. The covering of His Word and His love gives us the security to confess our sins and seek His cleansing.
Devotional Thought:
You are part of a royal priesthood, chosen to represent Christ and walk in holiness. As a priest, your role includes interceding for others and stewarding your relationship with God. Today, reflect on the weight and beauty of this calling. How can you live out this identity in your daily life?
Action Step: Write down one area of your life where you can take responsibility as a “priest” – whether in prayer, service, or obedience – and commit to improving in that area this week.
Prayer:
“Lord, I accept my role as a priest of my own life. Cover me with Your Word and love as I seek to live according to Your truth. Sanctify me and draw me closer to You. Amen.”
