Scripture Readings: Psalms 17, 47, 77, 107, 137; Proverbs 17
Daily Prayer: Spirit of the Living God,
As I come to Your Word today, I seek Your divine guidance and wisdom. Let the truths of these scriptures sink deeply into my heart and transform me in accordance with Your will.
In Psalm 17, I call upon You, O Lord, who will answer me. Guard me as the apple of Your eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings from the wicked who assail me, from my mortal enemies who surround me.
Through Psalm 47, I join in the clapping of hands, shouting to God with cries of joy, for You, Lord, are the Most High, awesome, the great King over all the earth. You subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet.
From Psalm 77, I cry out to God; to God who will hear me. In the day of my trouble I seek the Lord; during the night I stretch out untiring hands, and my soul refuses to be comforted. Remember the deeds of the Lord, Your miracles of long ago.
In Psalm 107, I give thanks to You, Lord, for You are good; Your love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—those He redeemed from the hand of the foe, those He gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south.
Psalm 137, beside the rivers of Babylon, we sat and wept when we remembered Zion. On the willows there we hung up our harps, for there our captors asked us for songs, our tormentors demanded songs of joy.
From Proverbs 17, better is a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife. A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.
Spirit of the Living God, as these words of lament and praise, of wisdom and remembrance, echo in my heart, let them shape my faith and my life. Guide me in the way of peace and righteousness, and help me to live out the love You have shown.
In Your powerful and compassionate name, I pray, Amen.
