Scripture Readings: Psalms 18, 48, 78, 108, 138; Proverbs 18
Daily Prayer: Spirit of the Living God,
On this day, as I immerse myself in the wisdom of Your Word, guide my thoughts and my actions to align with Your divine precepts. Let the teachings of the Psalms and Proverbs illuminate my path and enrich my life.
In Psalm 18, I love You, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Through Psalm 48, great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, His holy mountain. As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the Lord Almighty, in the city of our God: God makes her secure forever.
From Psalm 78, my people, hear my teaching; listen to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth with a parable; I will utter hidden things, things from of old—things we have heard and known, things our ancestors have told us.
In Psalm 108, my heart, O God, is steadfast; I will sing and make music with all my soul. Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. I will praise You, Lord, among the nations; I will sing of You among the peoples.
Psalm 138, I will praise You, Lord, with all my heart; before the “gods” I will sing Your praise. I will bow down toward Your holy temple and will praise Your name for Your unfailing love and Your faithfulness.
From Proverbs 18, the name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. The wealth of the rich is their fortified city; they imagine it a wall too high to scale.
Spirit of the Living God, let the depth of these scriptures guide me to a fuller understanding of Your wisdom and strength. May I live each day rooted in Your truth, demonstrating Your love and justice in all I do.
In Your wise and eternal name, I pray, Amen.
